Sirca S50 Series Two-Piece Ball Valve

The Sirca S50 is a full-bore, two-piece stainless-steel ball valve for bidirectional on/off isolation. Its threaded construction is used in industrial utility lines, water systems, compressed-air networks and compatible chemical services.

Operating Data

  • Size range: 1/4″–4″
  • Maximum nominal pressure: PN63
  • Temperature range: −25 to +200 °C
  • Standard threads: BSPP according to ISO 228
  • Optional threads: NPT or BSPT
  • Rotation: 90°
  • Flow direction: bidirectional
  • Actuator interface: DIN/ISO 5211

Permissible pressure decreases as temperature rises and varies by valve size. Selection must therefore follow the manufacturer’s pressure–temperature diagram rather than the PN63 designation alone.

Materials and Sealing

The body and end cap are ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel, with an AISI 316 ball and AISI 304 stem. Standard sealing components include PTFE seats, reinforced PTFE body gasket and an FKM stem O-ring.

Optional seat compounds include:

  • R-PTFE with 15% glass fibre
  • Carbon/graphite-filled C-PTFE

The valve incorporates an anti-blowout stem, adjustable Chevron-type stem packing and an antistatic device.

Actuation

The ISO 5211 mounting interface permits manual, double-acting pneumatic, spring-return pneumatic or electric operation. Pneumatic assemblies may include a NAMUR solenoid valve and limit-switch box. Actuator selection must consider differential pressure, breakaway torque and required fail position.

Applications

Suitable media include water, compressed air, clean industrial liquids and chemical agents compatible with CF8M, PTFE and FKM. Abrasive particles or suspended solids may damage the seats and should be assessed before selection.

Compliance

The S50 is included in the ATEX 2014/34/EU declaration for Group II, Category 2, gas Zones 1/2 and dust Zones 21/22. PED 2014/68/EU also applies.
