Float Steam Trap BLU ZAC BF

The BLU ZAC BF is a welded body float steam trap designed for condensate drainage in steam lines and project-specific applications. Its operation is based on the buoyancy of the sphere: as condensate enters, the float rises, opening the seat assembly; when the level drops, the valve closes. Discharge is intermittent, and the datasheet notes potential live steam loss, a factor to consider in sizing.

Operating Limits

According to ISO 6552, for flanged version PN25 / ANSI 300, the body withstands up to 23.2 bar at 100 °C, reducing to 19 bar at 250 °C. For ANSI 150, the limits are lower. The datasheet specifies PMO 21 bar and TMO 200 °C.

Selection is based on condensate load, differential pressure, temperature, connection type, and acceptable intermittent discharge behavior.

Installation and Maintenance

The steam trap should be installed below the drainage point, with the float arm in a horizontal plane. Isolation valves upstream and downstream are recommended for safe maintenance. Valve opening should be gradual to avoid water hammer. Gasket, valve assembly, float, and air vent can be replaced without disconnecting the piping.

Description

The Ball float type of steam trap is created for standard and special applications, designed to the customer’s specifications, welded body. Steam traps suitable for high capacities at low pressure, usable for all applications.

How it works:

The Ball is placed on the base, the shutter is closed; in the steam trap there is no fluid of any kind.
Start-up: when the condensate begins to circulate, the ball start floating and the steam trap eliminates the excess condensate.
