Valfonta PRV54 – Inlet Pressure Retaining Valve

The PRV54 is a self-acting pressure relief valve, fully balanced, designed to maintain upstream pressure. When the inlet pressure exceeds the set point, the valve opens proportionally, discharging flow to the downstream line or bypass without external energy.

Media and Sealing

The PRV54 is applicable for Group 1 and Group 2 fluids, such as steam, water, compressed air, nitrogen, inert gases, oil, and fuel-oil. Available with soft seals NBR, EPDM, FKM/Viton, and special versions with PEEK or metal seat. The 0.2–2 bar range is available only with soft sealing.

Installation and Adjustment

Flow direction follows the body arrow. For liquids and gases below 150°C, installation can be in any position. For steam above 150°C, horizontal installation with actuator downwards is recommended. Clean piping, upstream filter, pressure gauges, and slow start-up are advised to avoid water hammer.
