Automatic On/Off Valve AWS Type 701

The AWS Type 701 is a pneumatically operated 2/2 angle seat valve with a piston and external control. Closure occurs against the flow direction, a configuration to consider in lines with high differential pressure or hydraulic shocks. The default operation is NC, meaning normally closed without control air.

Operating Range

• DN10–DN50.
• Operating pressure 0–16 bar, depending on DN and actuator size.
• Stainless steel body.
• Medium temperature: -10°C to +180°C.
• Ambient temperature: up to +60°C.
• Maximum viscosity: 600 mm²/s.
• Installation position: any.

Sealing and Leakage

The seat is available with PTFE or RTFE, i.e., reinforced PTFE. Shaft sealing is PTFE. Both seat options cover the same temperature range, -10°C to +180°C, with leakage class A according to EN 12266-1.

Connections

Type 701 is available with internal thread G 3/8" to G 2". Welding ends according to DIN EN 10357, formerly DIN 11850, and DIN EN ISO 1127 / ISO 4200 are available in standard versions or upon request.

Actuation

The control medium is compressed air. Minimum control pressure is 4–4.5 bar, depending on DN and actuator. For DN40, two actuator options are available: 80 mm for up to 8 bar or 100 mm for up to 16 bar. For DN50, the 100 mm actuator covers up to 9 bar.

Typical Applications

• on/off isolation of water, air, and neutral fluids,
• auxiliary circuits of machinery and skids,
• filling, draining, or bypass lines,
• applications requiring rapid pneumatic operation with position indication.

Optional Equipment

A 3/2 pilot valve is available, directly mountable on the valve, with a 6 mm tube connector and manual override. Options for electrical position indication and special pressure areas are also available.
