Automatic On/Off Valve ARI STEVI 405/460
Two-way flanged isolation valve for industrial steam, condensate, water, thermal oil, and compatible industrial fluids. Selection is based on DN, PN, body material, temperature, differential shut-off pressure, and shaft sealing type.
Technical Selection Limits
- DN15–DN500, depending on material and PN.
- PN16, PN25, or PN40.
- Body materials: EN-JL1040, EN-JS1049, 1.0619+N, 1.4408.
- Sealing temperatures: PTFE up to 220–250°C, graphite gaskets up to 450°C, bellows Fig. 460 from -60°C to 450°C.
- Isolation plug with metal seat or PTFE soft seal up to 200°C.
- Seat leakage: Class A according to DIN EN 12266.
Fig. 405 or Fig. 460
Fig. 405 is used in applications where conventional shaft sealing with PTFE, EPDM, or graphite is sufficient. Fig. 460 is chosen when a stainless steel metal bellows is required, e.g., at high temperatures or where shaft leakage must be minimized by design.
Actuation and Automation
Available with pneumatic actuator ARI-DP 32–35, rolling diaphragm, and air supply up to 6 bar, or with electric actuators ARI-PREMIO / AUMA with handwheel, torque switches, and IP65 or IP67 protection. Versions for ATEX areas are available.
Typical Applications
- Isolation of steam and condensate lines,
- on/off control in exchangers and thermal stations,
- bypass or drainage of networks,
- process water and HVAC circuits,
- chemical industry units with appropriate material selection.
Standards and Certifications
Relevant documentation mentions PED 2014/68/EU, GOST-R, and CRN, with installation of additional devices according to DIN IEC 60534-6.
FAQ
When is a soft seal selected? When tight isolation is required at temperatures up to 200°C.
When is a bellows needed? At high temperatures or in fluids where shaft sealing is a critical maintenance point.
