Indicator Sight Glass Luminaire Noris BKVLR

The Noris BKVLR is a compact stainless steel luminaire designed for illumination of sight glasses in non-hazardous areas, where no explosion-proof classification is required per the available technical datasheet. It is used in applications where observation of level, flow, foaming, or medium color requires direct lighting through the sight glass itself.

Construction and Operation

Standard configuration includes an integrated reflector, sealed momentary push-button for short-term illumination, and vertical Pg9 cable gland. For extended operation, thermal effects on the housing must be considered.

Selection Criteria

BKVLR is selected when localized illumination is required without a separate vessel opening. Power rating should be based on sight glass diameter, required field of view, activation time, and thermal impact on the assembly.

FAQ

Does it affect vessel pressure?
No. Luminaire operation is independent of vessel pressure.

Is it LED?
The datasheet specifies halogen lamps, not LED.

Is an actuator required?
No actuator is needed. Operation is via momentary push-button or optional ON-OFF switch for the 20 W version with integrated transformer.
