Swing check valve Angle Bronze 5K - F7416 (Union Bonnet Type)
Bronze Angle Lift Check Valve JIS 5K F7416
The angle lift check valve with union bonnet is designed for auxiliary marine piping systems of small diameters. Technical specifications reference standard JIS F7416-1996 and hydrostatic testing per JIS F7400-1996.
Construction
- Connection class: JIS 5K flanged
- Body: BC6 bronze
- Bonnet: BC6 bronze (union type)
- Disc: BC6 bronze
- Seat sealing: non-asbestos gasket
- Bonnet type: union bonnet for service access
- Available sizes: DN15 to DN40
Test Pressure
- Shell test: 1.05 MPa
- Seat test: 0.77–0.4 MPa
Angle Pattern and Operation
The angle pattern changes flow direction by 90°, eliminating the need for separate elbow fittings in compact piping layouts. The disc lifts under differential pressure during normal flow and reseats when flow decreases or backpressure occurs. At low flow velocities, the disc may not remain fully open, potentially causing pulsation, noise, or seat wear.
Selection Considerations
Valve selection should be based on actual flow rates, not nominal diameter alone. For low-velocity or intermittent flows, verify disc stability to avoid operational issues.
Typical Applications
- Shipboard auxiliary water lines
- Service water and fresh water systems
- Small pump discharge lines
- Piping sections requiring 90° flow change
- Installations with JIS 5K flanges
Media Compatibility
Suitable for water, seawater, and non-corrosive fluids compatible with BC6 bronze and non-asbestos gaskets. Not recommended for aggressive chemicals or high-temperature steam.
Maintenance
The union bonnet design allows access to the disc and seat for inspection, cleaning, or gasket replacement. In systems with solids or scaling, periodic checks for free disc movement and seat tightness under reverse pressure are advised.
