Special Conaco Components for Piping and Industrial Networks
Conaco Special components are not standardized filter series with fixed DN/PN, but custom-engineered items for piping systems, designed per application and end-user requirements. This category includes items such as bird screens, choke pipes, exhaust heads, injection nozzles, level chambers, sample coolers, seal pots, sight glasses, special vessels, spectacle blinds, and thermal sleeves.
Selection Logic
Selection is based on the process line datasheet, not a generic commercial code. The following are evaluated:
- Pressure class and design temperature,
- Pipe material and corrosion allowance,
- Process media compatibility,
- ASME / ANSI / API project requirements,
- Connection type: flange, butt weld, or special mechanical joint,
- Requirements for vent, drain, sampling, or visual inspection.
Conaco manufactures strainers and components per ANSI, API, and ASME standards. Construction is available in carbon steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous, and special alloys, depending on service conditions.
Typical Applications
Custom components are used in oil & gas, chemical, power, pharmaceutical, and auxiliary industrial installations. Examples include:
- Sample coolers for safe sampling of hot fluids,
- Sight glasses for flow or level observation,
- Seal pots for pressure and differential pressure instruments,
- Injection nozzles for chemical or steam injection into process lines,
- Exhaust heads for venting steam or gases with droplet retention.
Specification Considerations
Each custom item requires operational data: media, flow rate, pressure, temperature, material, pipe wall thickness, connection rating, NDE requirements, material certificates, and test procedures. For components upstream of pumps or instruments, pressure drop and cleanability or isolation must be assessed.
FAQ
Are standard sizes available?
Documentation presents these as custom fabrications, not fixed DN/PN series.
Are actuators supported?
Not as a default feature. Automation must be specified in the overall piping package if required.
What is required for a quotation?
Datasheet, line drawing, pressure class, material, media, temperature, pressure, and test/certification requirements.
