NORIS Bauform 880-W – Flow Indicator with Wiper System

The NORIS 880-W is a dual-sided flow indicator equipped with a mechanical wiper for glass plates. It is utilized when the viewing surface may be obscured by crystallized media, dust, or process contaminants, necessitating cleaning without disassembling the indicator.

Operation

The operator activates the wiper from the exterior of the body, allowing the blade to remove deposits from the internal glass. The standard design includes a wiper on one side, with an option for systems on both observation sides.

Application Selection

The 880-W version is selected for fluids that leave layers, crystals, or solid residues on the glass area. Typical examples include viscous chemicals, liquids with suspended solids, products crystallizing upon cooling, and lines where the indicator is exposed to dust or environmental pollution.

Difference from NORIS 880

The basic 880 provides visual flow inspection from two sides. The 880-W adds mechanical glass cleaning. Selection is influenced by media contamination, temperature, blade material, and reduced allowable pressure due to perforated glass plate.

Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator with a manual wiper system.
