ADCA STV units are vertical steam-water heat exchangers, featuring a bolted construction, designed for industrial water heating or production. Steam flows through the tubes while process water circulates on the shell side, ensuring separation of the two fluids.
Typical uses include:
Suitable media include steam, water, hot condensate, and fluids compatible with construction materials.
Two main versions are available: STV/S with carbon steel shell and STV/SS with stainless steel construction. Installation is vertical, wall-mounted, or floor-mounted with special supports.
Connections are available as flanged EN 1092-1 PN16, ASME B16.5 Class 150, or female threaded ISO 7 Rp / NPT. Maximum operating pressure is 16 bar at 50 °C, reducing to 12 bar at 250 °C for PN16. PMO for saturated steam is 13 bar, with a minimum operating temperature of -10 °C.
The tube bundle is AISI 316L with low fins to increase external heat transfer surface compared to smooth tubes. Straight tubes facilitate cleaning, while the floating head minimizes mechanical stresses from thermal expansion.
Sizing requires:
When to choose STV?
When a vertical steam heater with tube bundle maintenance capability is required.
What should be considered in installation?
Condensate drainage, steam trap, isolation valves, steam filter, and cleaning access.
