Adjustable Safety Shower Valve BR 022 985 / V

Activation valve for B-Safety emergency showers, designed for wall-mounted installations with exposed piping. The assembly utilizes a ball valve actuated by a pull rod and ring handle, enabling operation from an accessible height depending on installation requirements. Suitable for process environments requiring rapid manual activation.

Technical Data

  • Code: BR 022 985 / V
  • Water connection: Rp ¾” female
  • Operating pressure: 1–5 bar
  • Flow rate: ≥60 l/min at 1 bar flow pressure
  • Opening angle: 90°
  • Operation: non-self-closing
  • Pull rod: adjustable length 300–1660 mm
  • Dimensions: 300–1600 × 172 × 80 mm
  • Permitted handle lower edge height: 0–1750 mm above floor

Materials and Construction

Flange base: stainless steel AISI 304. Ball valve: AISI 316. Lever, pull rod, and rod support: AISI 201. Clevis: galvanized steel Q235. Green powder coating is applied to components exposed to industrial environments for corrosion resistance.

Application Scope

Intended for industrial emergency showers in chemical plants, laboratories, chemical loading areas, processing units, and locations requiring immediate body washdown. The adjustable pull rod allows adaptation to varying door heights, corridors, or access points.

Standards and Installation

Complies with DIN EN 15154-1:2006, DIN EN 15154-5:2019, ANSI Z358.1-2014, and GOST-R approval. Valve is DIN-DVGW tested/certified. For DIN EN 15154-1 installations, the section between valve and shower head must be self-draining to prevent stagnation.

Difference from Fixed Version BR 022 985

The /V variant is selected when the actuation height must be adjusted on site. The fixed version is used for standardized installation geometry, while /V accommodates variable distances between valve, support, and handle.

FAQ

Does it close automatically?
No. It is non-self-closing; flow remains open until manually reset.

What should be checked before selection?
Available pressure, flow ≥60 l/min, handle height, installation side, and possibility of self-draining piping.

Product description

The variable rod operated safety shower valve consists of a robust ball valve with drinking water approval, which can be mounted either to the right or left of the door. The volume flow is at least 60 liters / minute at 1 bar flow pressure. An additional holder ensures positioning of the pull rod. The length of the pull rod can be ordered from 300 to 1660 mm according to the conditions on site.

Mounting-Instructions:

For an installation in accordance with EN 15154-1:2006 it must be ensured, that the safety shower installation is self-draining between valve and shower head.
