Aseptic Metal Rupture Discs STRIKO

STRIKO aseptic rupture discs are specified for pharmaceutical, biotech, food, and beverage installations where pressure relief devices must not introduce dead space at the product interface. The design is compatible with Tri-clamp / clamp connections and does not require a separate holder.

Variants and Operation

Available as flat, forward acting, or reverse acting metal discs:

  • SF-M-S / SF-MV-S: flat aseptic variants.
  • SU-C-S / SU-R-S: reverse acting aseptic variants.
  • Fragment-free opening.
  • Vacuum resistance, with or without additional support depending on type.
  • Compatible with STRIKO rupture disc indicators.
  • Installable as standalone relief or upstream of a safety valve.

Technical Selection Limits

  • DN: 25 to 100
  • Burst pressure: 0.3 to 20 bar(g)
  • Working ratio: up to 90%
  • Burst tolerance: from ±5%
  • Operating temperature: -200°C to +260°C
  • Materials: stainless steels, Inconel, nickel, Hastelloy, and special alloys.

Hygienic Design and Sealing

Sterile variants are supplied with seals compliant with FDA and USP Class VI. The absence of dead space minimizes product hold-up, critical for CIP/SIP lines, fermenters, preparation vessels, sterilizing filters, and filling lines.

Certifications

STRIKO holds ISO 9001:2015 for development and production of bursting disc safety devices and quality system per PED 2014/68/EU Module D for metal and graphite rupture discs.

FAQ

When is an aseptic disc selected over a standard metal disc?
When process specifications require cleanability, sterilization, and elimination of dead space.

Is the disc replaced after activation?
Yes. The disc is a non-reclosing device.

What data is required for selection?
DN clamp, set pressure, temperature, vacuum, media, CIP/SIP cycles, wetted material, and rupture indication requirement.

Description

Aseptic Metal Rupture Disc

STRIKO aseptic metal rupture discs are especially characterised by their unique dead space free design – pharmaceutical customers or customers from the food industry place high value on this feature. Aseptic rupture discs are frequently used in Tri-clamp connections. All variants guarantee a fragment free opening behaviour which rounds off the positive product attributes.

Advantages in the application

  • fragment-free opening behaviour
  • ideal as single pressure relief unit or used in combination with safety valve
  • vacuum resistant design
  • working ratio: up to 90%
  • upon request with 3D name-plate for safe detection of correct direction of installation
  • ideal to protect media that tend to “cake”
