Gefran TDP-1001 – Local Display for 4…20 mA Loop
The TDP-1001 is not a pressure transmitter. It is an in-line local display with alarm limit functionality, designed for installation between a transmitter and a DIN43650 connector. It is compatible with sensors or transmitters providing a 4…20 mA analog output and corresponding electrical connection.
Technical Specifications
- Display: 4-digit red LED, 7.62 mm character height
- Indication range: -1999…+9999
- Accuracy: 0.2% of span ±1 digit
- Power supply: loop-powered from 4…20 mA, no external supply required
- Voltage drop: ≤ 5 V
- Sampling rate: 3 to 25.5 measurements/s, adjustable
- Protection: IP65
- Ambient temperature (TDP-1001): 0…+60 °C
- Alarm output: PNP open collector, up to 90 mA
Operation and Configuration
The unit allows configuration of local display scaling, decimal point, gate time, alarm setpoint, and error messages. Parameters are stored in EEPROM to prevent loss during power interruptions. The display shows HI for over-range and LO for under-range conditions.
Applications
Used where local visual indication of process pressure is required near the field device, without adding a separate panel indicator. Typical applications include pressure transmitters in hydraulic systems, test benches, compressors, pumps, auxiliary circuits, and general two-wire instruments with 4…20 mA output. Suitable for non-hazardous areas; for Ex zones, refer to TDP-2000 variant.
Selection Considerations
Select TDP-1001 when a transmitter with DIN43650 is present and local indication or simple alarm is needed. Does not replace PLCs, pressure switches, or safety relays. Not suitable for hazardous (Ex) areas—use TDP-2000 for such applications.
