Miyawaki REA20 Direct-Acting Pressure Reducing Valve
The Miyawaki REA20 is a self-acting pressure reducing valve suitable for liquids and gases, although it is listed under the steam category. The manufacturer's technical description indicates its use in compressible media such as air and technical gases, as well as incompressible media like water, oil, and similar liquids. It does not require external energy or a pulse line.
Technical Specifications
- DN15–DN200.
- Flanged connection DIN.
- Body: ductile cast iron EN-GJS-400-15 / GGG-40.
- Body classes: PN16 and PN25.
- PMO: 1.5 MPa for PN16, 2.2 MPa for PN25.
- TMO: 350°C.
- Downstream pressure range: 0.05–1.6 MPa.
- Ranges below 0.05 MPa or above 1.6 MPa: subject to technical review.
- Minimum differential pressure: 0.05 MPa.
- Maximum pressure reduction ratio: 25:1.
Operation
The downstream pressure is detected in the internal control chamber and directly adjusts the valve opening. The design is piston-operated with O-ring sealing, without a diaphragm and without an external feedback line. The conical disc rotates freely at 360°, reducing localized wear on the seat.
Applications
Suitable for compressed air lines, technical gases, water, oil, lube-oil lines, pre-heater units, natural gas, LNG, or gasoline tank systems, provided material and sealing compatibility with the medium is confirmed.
Selection and Installation
Selection should be based on p1, p2, flow rate, medium, temperature, DN, Kvs, and allowable reduction ratio. Options for additional gauges, special connections, and soft sealing for leakage class VI are available. For reduction ratios above 25:1, a two-stage pressure reduction should be considered.
