Miyawaki RE2 Direct-Acting Pressure Reducing Valve for Steam

The Miyawaki RE2 is a compact, self-operated pressure reducing valve designed for low steam consumption applications. The downstream pressure is detected in the control chamber, directly adjusting the valve opening without the need for electric or pneumatic actuators. Adjustment is performed via the top handle.

Construction and Operation

The RE2 features an integrated screen and blow-off mechanism for deposit removal. The stainless steel micro-bellows and overload protection mechanism reduce stress on the internal components during adjustment. Maintenance access is in-line, eliminating the need for complete disassembly of the piping.

Applications

Suitable for small steam equipment, steam irons in textile or laundry facilities, compact thermal units, and localized pressure reductions before small consumers. Not intended for central stations with high flow rates.

Installation and Selection

The valve can be installed horizontally or in an L configuration. Proper selection requires p1, p2, steam flow rate, temperature, connection, and reduction ratio verification. If the reduction ratio exceeds 10:1, consider a two-stage reduction. Upstream filters and pressure gauges aid in adjustment and operational diagnostics.

Description

Features

Direct acting pressure reducing valve for steam

Automatic valve that reduces the steam supply pressure to a defined set pressure. Pressure fluctuations on upstream side are followed by the downstream side. No external energy required

Compact and cost effective design

It is smallest among MIYAWAKI's pressure reducing valves. Can be installed in tight spaces thanks to its compact design (small/lightweight). Offers reliable operation, energy saving, and productivity improvement.

Easy handling

Pressure can easily adjusted by the topside handle.

Easy maintenance

An easy in-line access ensures easy and fast maintenance.

Operating features of direct acting pressure reducing valves

Downstream pressure changes are detected in the detection chamber, and the degree of opening of the valve is directly adjusted to maintain the set pressure.

Superb durability

Thanks to adopt overstress prevent mechanism which is MIYAWAKI's unique mechanism, and micro bellows valve which is made from stainless steel, making it durable and corrosion-resistant.

Flexible installation

This product can be installed either horizontally or L-shaped.

One push blow mechanism

Our unique blow off mechanism makes it easy to remove scale.

Typical applications

Suitable for steam iron in textile and cleaning factory, small steam equipment, and other such applications.
