Miyawaki RE2 Direct-Acting Pressure Reducing Valve for Steam
The Miyawaki RE2 is a compact, self-operated pressure reducing valve designed for low steam consumption applications. The downstream pressure is detected in the control chamber, directly adjusting the valve opening without the need for electric or pneumatic actuators. Adjustment is performed via the top handle.

Construction and Operation
The RE2 features an integrated screen and blow-off mechanism for deposit removal. The stainless steel micro-bellows and overload protection mechanism reduce stress on the internal components during adjustment. Maintenance access is in-line, eliminating the need for complete disassembly of the piping.
Applications
Suitable for small steam equipment, steam irons in textile or laundry facilities, compact thermal units, and localized pressure reductions before small consumers. Not intended for central stations with high flow rates.
Installation and Selection
The valve can be installed horizontally or in an L configuration. Proper selection requires p1, p2, steam flow rate, temperature, connection, and reduction ratio verification. If the reduction ratio exceeds 10:1, consider a two-stage reduction. Upstream filters and pressure gauges aid in adjustment and operational diagnostics.
