SonFlow Plate Heat Exchangers with AHRI Certification
SonFlow AHRI-Certified® plate heat exchangers are designed for liquid-to-liquid applications, certified under the ANSI/AHRI 400 – Liquid to Liquid Heat Exchangers program. Certification provides independent verification of thermal performance against declared selection data.
Application Scope
Suitable for:
- HVAC, building cooling and heating
- refrigeration circuits and data centers
- heat recovery in industrial processes
- marine cooling, geothermal, and mining
- food, beverages, chemical applications, and sugar
Technical Specifications
The AF series includes models such as AF30, AF55, AF60, AF100, and AF150, with design pressures up to 25 bar and operating temperatures up to 180 °C, depending on frame, size, and configuration.
Key construction options:
- plates in AISI 304, AISI 316, or titanium
- gaskets in NBR, EPDM, or Viton
- click-on gasket system without adhesive
- painted frame RAL 5010 or stainless steel frame
- connections in DN, flanges, dairy unions, or BSP/NPT, depending on series
Standards and Certifications
Manufacturing complies with EN 13445 and ASME Section VIII Div. 1 for respective versions. AHRI certification allows comparison of units with verified thermal data, useful in projects where duty point documentation is required.
Control and Operation
The exchanger does not include an integrated actuator. Temperature regulation is managed by an external control valve, three-way valve, pump inverter, or BMS/PLC. Selection considers flow rate, temperature program, approach temperature, allowable pressure drop, and fouling potential.
FAQ
When is an AHRI-certified unit required?
In HVAC, district energy, data centers, and projects requiring independent thermal performance documentation.
When to choose a stainless steel frame?
In sanitary applications, fluids with high cleaning requirements, or corrosive environments.
