Manifold Plates
Air manifolds are used in pneumatic circuits to supply multiple valves from a single compressed air source. A manifold plate reduces separate tubing runs, potential leak points, and assembly time in control panels, production machinery, and pneumatic actuator assemblies. Selection should be based on valve series, 3/2 or 5/2–5/3 function, required flow rate, port size, number of stations, and the need to isolate or blank unused positions.
This category includes Hafner manifold plates in 10 mm, 16 mm, and 22 mm series for three-port and five-port pneumatic valves. The 10 mm range covers modular manifold components for MMD valves, including left-hand and right-hand end pieces, intermediate sections, and blanking plates for closing unused stations.
The 16 mm series for 3-way valves includes manifold plates for MD and MOD valves, with connections such as G 1/8", G 1/4", M5, M3, and push-in tube fittings for Ø4 or Ø6 tubing, in multi-station configurations. The corresponding 22 mm series for 3-way valves covers MH valves and G-series arrangements, with G 1/8" ports or connection through the valve body, depending on the base design.
For 5-way service, the 16 mm and 22 mm manifolds are used in double-acting actuator circuits where common supply distribution and controlled exhaust routing from ports 3 and 5 are required. The 22 mm versions include G 1/4", G 3/8", G 1/2", and Ø8 tube connection options, as well as modular elements with end plates, individual valve stations, and individual valve isolation where maintenance or staged commissioning is required.
During installation, the sealing interface between manifold and valve should be checked, along with correct port assignment for 1, 2, 4, 3, and 5, available air capacity, and pressure drop across the manifold. Panel mounting and access for valve or blanking plate replacement should also be considered. Moisture carryover, particulates, or incorrect tightening can cause internal leakage, delayed shifting, and unstable actuator operation. Compatibility with plant air quality per ISO 8573 and thread standard verification are recommended during specification and maintenance.
