Fival RBF NX / NY – Reflex Type Level Gauge

The Fival RBF NX/NY is a reflex glass level gauge designed for direct visual indication of liquid level in boilers, pressure vessels, and industrial tanks. Indication is based on the refractive index difference between liquid and vapor phases: the liquid zone appears dark, while the vapor or gas zone appears bright.

Construction and Connections

Standard configuration includes a gauge body, reflex borosilicate glass, gaskets, protective cover, tie bolts, and upper/lower isolation valves. Typical process connections are PN40 DN20 flanges. The NX variant uses plain tubes with gland packings, while the NY variant uses threaded nipples.

Materials

• Glass: borosilicate reflex, typical width 30 mm
• Gaskets: graphite or asbestos-free
• Body and covers: carbon steel or stainless steel
• Bolts: class 8.8, zinc-plated
• Nipples: carbon or stainless steel

Selection Data

Specify center-to-center distance, visible length, handwheel side, pressure, temperature, process medium, and any special materials when ordering. Manufacturer’s dimension table covers sizes from Mis. 13 to Mis. 79, with different lengths for NX and NY versions.

Maintenance Considerations

Inspection should include gasket leakage, glass wear or clouding, isolation valve operation, and column cleanliness. For media that scratch or corrode glass, verify compatibility or select an alternative gauge type.
