WEY VL Knife Gate Valve – Stainless Steel Full-Lug Design
The WEY VL series is a bidirectional full-lug isolation valve for corrosive liquids, slurry, viscous products and media containing suspended solids. The full-lug body supports installation between flanges and, under defined pressure limits, end-of-line service.
Technical Data
-
Nominal sizes: DN50–DN900
-
Operating pressure: up to 10 bar, depending on DN and actuator
-
Flange connections: ASME Class 150
-
Face-to-face dimension: MSS-SP81
-
Body material: cast 316 stainless steel
-
Gate material: 316 stainless steel, optionally hard chrome plated
-
Standard seat seal: Aflas
-
Stem or piston rod: stainless steel 430F
The mechanically retained circular seat provides bidirectional sealing. The transverse seal limits leakage to atmosphere and can be readjusted through lateral compression screws without removing the valve. The upper body geometry reduces solids accumulation around the gate.
Actuator Options
-
Handwheel
-
Bevel gearbox
-
Pneumatic cylinder
-
Hydraulic cylinder
-
Electric actuator
Actuator sizing must consider nominal diameter, differential pressure, solids content, operating frequency and required closing time.
Applications
Chemical effluent, bleaching agents, pulp, pastes, granular products, seawater, corrosive wastewater, syrups and beverage-processing lines.
FAQ
Can the VL be installed as an end-of-line valve?
Yes, subject to the applicable PED classification and the reduced allowable pressure specified for end-of-line operation.
Is it suitable for throttling?
The standard configuration is intended for full open or full closed isolation. Continuous throttling requires a dedicated control arrangement.
