WEY MF Knife Gate Valve – Central Flange Design

The WEY MF series is a bidirectional isolation valve for liquids, sludge, slurry, powders and granular media. Its body geometry limits solids accumulation around the gate guides, while the gate is mechanically supported throughout its travel and in the closed position.

Technical Data

  • Nominal sizes: DN50–DN2000

  • Operating pressure: up to 10 bar, depending on DN and actuator

  • Typical limits: DN50–DN300 up to 10 bar, DN350–DN400 up to 6 bar, larger sizes up to 4 bar

  • Flange connections: PN6, PN10, PN16, ASME Class 150, BS10-D/E or AS2129-D/E

  • Face-to-face dimension: EN 558 / ISO 5752, Series 20

  • Leakage test: EN 12266-1, Leakage Rate A

  • Body materials: ductile or grey cast iron, depending on DN

  • Gate material: stainless steel 1.4301

  • Seat seal: NBR; EPDM, FKM or PTFE options

The transverse seal limits leakage to atmosphere and can be readjusted through lateral compression screws without removing the valve. Adjustment must be uniform to prevent increased friction or gate jamming.

Actuator Options

  • MFA: handwheel or bevel gearbox

  • MFC: pneumatic cylinder, typically 6–8 bar supply

  • MFE: electric actuator with rising stem

  • Hydraulic cylinder upon actuator sizing

Applications

Wastewater, sludge, pulp, biogas, mining slurry, ash, lime powder, cement, granular solids and viscous process media. The standard configuration is intended for full open or full closed operation.

FAQ

Is the MF series bidirectional?
Yes. However, the preferred pressure direction should be observed when operating close to the maximum allowable differential pressure.

Can it be installed as an end-of-line valve?
Yes, subject to the applicable PED classification and the reduced allowable pressure specified for end-of-line service.

Description

The MF is a universally applicable knife gate valve with a central flange design that will just about satisfy the customer's every need. As well as featuring the integrated Wey sealing system, the robust, modular design of the series is particularly advantageous. Choose from a variety of materials, add-on parts, and actuator options across the entire nominal size range. A true all-rounder.
