Miyawaki ESH8N – Inverted Bucket Steam Trap for High Pressure
The Miyawaki ESH8N is a mechanical inverted bucket steam trap made from cast steel WCB, designed for medium condensate loads and medium to high-pressure steam networks. Discharge is based on the buoyancy of the bucket, operating without electrical or pneumatic actuators.

Operation and Selection
The inverted bucket closes the seat when steam is present and opens when condensate level reduces buoyancy. The SCCV System minimizes eccentricity in the valve/seat assembly. A small vent hole in the bucket removes hot air and non-condensable gases, reducing air locking.
Applications
Suitable for steam transport lines, small heat exchangers, food processing, dyeing, cleaning facilities, and HVAC, where pressure resistance greater than cast iron ES8N/ES12N is required. Supports condensate recovery with backpressure up to 90% of upstream pressure, provided check valve and isolation valve are installed at the outlet.
Installation and Maintenance
Installation requires horizontal flow, following the arrow and plate on the top side. Blow-off is needed before startup to remove deposits. Maintenance space of over 180 mm above and 80 mm laterally is recommended.
