Pressure or Vacuum Line Valve KITO F50N

The KITO VL/TA, F50N series, is not a conventional two-way breather valve. It is a line distribution fitting with a vertical flanged connection to the tank nozzle. Connection 1 interfaces with the tank, while the two lateral connections are used for vacuum valve installation, inert gas line, pressure relief, vent gas extraction, or gas balancing during filling operations.

Operation and Configuration Selection

Connection 2 can accommodate a vacuum valve or inert gas line. Connection 3 serves as the pressure side, providing overpressure protection or routing vent gases to a collection header. For flammable stored media, both the vacuum valve at connection 2 and connection 3 must be protected with an appropriate flame arrester.

Sizes and Settings

  • DN 40: PN 40
  • DN 50 to DN 150: PN 16
  • ASME equivalents: 1½" to 6"
  • Minimum setpoints: approx. 1.5 to 2.5 mbar, depending on DN
  • Maximum setpoints: approx. 70 to 165 mbar, depending on DN
  • Higher setpoints available upon technical review
  • Face-to-face length C can be adapted to installation requirements

Materials and Sealing

Body and cover are carbon steel, with optional stainless steel 1.4571. Seat and spindle are stainless steel 1.4571. Standard sealing is NBR; alternatives include Viton, PTFE, EPDM, or metal-to-metal. For setpoints ≥100 mbar, only PTFE or metal seals are used.

Connections and Flow Data

Standard flange: EN 1092-1 type A. Optional: ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF. Flow rates refer to air at ρ=1.29 kg/m³, 273 K, achieved with 40% accumulation above setpoint, per DIN 4119.

Typical Applications

  • Tanks with dedicated inert gas lines
  • Vent gas routing to scrubber, VRU, or flare
  • Gas balancing during tank filling
  • Protection of tanks with flammable or volatile contents
  • Integration with external vacuum valves

FAQ

Is this a combined pressure and vacuum valve?
No. It is a distribution assembly for connecting separate pressure, vacuum, or inert gas functions.

Does it carry CE marking?
The technical datasheet specifies versions without EC certificate and without CE marking.

Description

KITO® VL/TA-…

  • Distributing piece for vertical flange connection to a tank connecting pipe.
  • The tank connection is nozzle 1.
  • The two branching Connections have many uses.
  • Nozzle 2 can be used to connect a vacuum valve or an inert gas conduit, nozzle 3 with pressure valve function can be used as protection against pressure or to carry away exhaust gas or as gas compensation when filling a tank.
  • For flammable storage media, the vacuum valve (connecting nozzle 2) and the connection 3 have to be secured with the respective flame arrester.
