Pressure and Vacuum Line Valve KITO F37.1N

The KITO VD/T3-1, F37.1N series, is a self-actuated line breather valve designed for fixed roof tanks and vessels. It features a side connection to the tank, a bottom flange for vent piping, and a top flange for breathing line connection. The lower valve can be used for automatic inert gas supply control, such as nitrogen blanketing.

Operation

The F37.1N variant covers higher set pressures than the F37N. Under overpressure, the pressure pallet opens toward the vent line. Under vacuum, the vacuum pallet allows air or inert gas intake via the breathing line. The pressure pallet is spring-loaded; the vacuum pallet is weight-loaded.

Sizes and Set Points

  • DN 25–40: PN 40
  • DN 50–150: PN 16
  • ASME equivalents: 1" to 6"
  • Vacuum set point: approx. 6 to 158 mbar
  • Pressure set point: >200 to 350 mbar for DN 25–100
  • DN 125–150: pressure set point >150 to 350 mbar
  • Lower set points: F37N type
  • Higher set points: on request, subject to technical review

Materials and Sealing

Body and cover: carbon steel or optional stainless steel 1.4571. Seat, shaft, weights, spring components: stainless steel. Valve sealing: metal-to-metal. Gasket: HD 3822 or PTFE. Seat O-ring: VMQ-FEP, Viton, NBR, or VMQ-PFA.

Standards and Installation

Standard connection: EN 1092-1 type A. Optional: ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF. Face-to-face length C can be adapted. For flammable liquids, a flame arrester is required between tank and valve. Technical datasheet specifies version without EC certificate or CE marking.

Typical Applications

  • Nitrogen-blanketed storage tanks
  • Vapor lines to scrubber, VRU, or flare
  • Storage of solvents, fuels, volatile chemicals
  • Overpressure protection during filling
  • Vacuum protection during emptying

FAQ

When to select F37.1N over F37N?
When higher pressure set points are required than those covered by F37N.

Is an actuator required?
No. Operation is mechanical via spring and weight loading.

Description

KITO® VD/T3-1-…

  • As inline armature with venting and breathing function for application on fixed roof tanks and vessels.
  • Equipped with a lateral Connection for the tank connecting pipe, a lower flange connection for a venting conduit and an upper flange connection for a breather conduit.
  • The lower valve can be used to automatically control a supply of inert gas (e. g. nitrogen).
  • For flammable liquids, a detonation flame arrester, e. g. KITO® EFA-Det-… should be provided between the tank and the KITO® VD/T3-…
