Gate Valve Bronze JIS 10K - F7368
Bronze Gate Valve JIS 10K F7368
Flanged gate valve for marine isolation systems, designed according to JIS F 7368-1996. This is a rising stem gate valve with handwheel operation and nominal pressure rating JIS 10K. Intended for use in fully open or fully closed positions; not suitable for throttling or flow regulation.
Technical Data
- Design standard: JIS F 7368-1996
- Test standard: JIS F 7400-1996
- Body test pressure: 2.1 MPa
- Seat test pressure: 1.54 MPa
- Pressure class: 10K
- Connection: flanged
- Sizes: DN15 to DN65
- Operator: Handwheel FC200
- Gasket: non-asbestos
Materials of Construction
Body, bonnet, and wedge: BC6 (marine-grade bronze alloy). Stem: CA771BD or BE (bronze alloy per product datasheet). Suitable for seawater and freshwater service.
Typical Applications
- Seawater cooling lines
- Shipboard freshwater networks
- Pump manifolds and auxiliary circuits
- Engine room isolation lines
- Shipbuilding with JIS 10K flanges
Selection Criteria
JIS 10K F7368 is selected where higher pressure class is required compared to JIS 5K. Full bore design minimizes pressure drop in open position. Operation in partially open positions is not recommended due to risk of seat erosion and unstable flow.
Maintenance and Inspection
Inspection should include:
- Seat tightness
- Bonnet gasket condition
- Smooth stem movement
- Corrosion on body and flanges
- Bolt torque after thermal or mechanical cycling
FAQ
Is this valve suitable for throttling?
No. Gate valves are designed for isolation, not for flow control.
What is the main difference from JIS 5K F7367?
F7368 is rated for JIS 10K and has higher body and seat test pressures.
Can it be used with seawater?
Yes, provided material selection, flow velocity, and corrosion conditions are compatible with the piping system.
