The ADCA RV is a vertical flash vessel designed for the recovery of secondary (flash) steam from high-pressure condensate. When condensate is discharged to a lower pressure, a portion re-evaporates and is separated in the vessel. The generated flash steam can be utilized for low-pressure steam consumers or heat exchangers, improving overall energy efficiency in steam systems.
Series rated PN16, maximum allowable pressure 16 bar at 50°C. For saturated steam, PMO 13 bar. Maximum temperature for PN16 is 250°C, depending on material and version. Minimum operating temperature: -10°C. Design code: AD-Merkblatt.
Sizing requires condensate flow, inlet pressure/temperature, and desired flash steam pressure. Selection is not based solely on pipe diameter; factors include flash steam ratio, steam velocity, droplet separation efficiency, and system pressure drop.
Install vessel vertically, with secondary steam outlet at the top. Piping must be independently supported to avoid mechanical loads on the vessel. Float-thermostatic steam traps are recommended for automatic condensate removal from the bottom connection.
After commissioning, check for leakage at connections within 24 hours. During reassembly, use clean surfaces and new gaskets. ADCA recommends indicative wall thickness inspection after approximately 5 years, or sooner for corrosive media or poor water quality.
