KITO G 32 N – Bidirectional In-Line Detonation Flame Arrester IIC

The KITO® FS-Det4-IIC-…-1.2 is a bidirectional in-line detonation flame arrester for gas-phase piping, suitable for applications such as ignition gas lines and instrumentation protection. The device is designed to prevent the propagation of stable detonation in both flow directions.

Operating Limits

  • Explosion groups: IIA1 to IIC
  • MESG: < 0.5 mm
  • Max. operating pressure: 1.2 bar abs.
  • Max. operating temperature: 60 °C
  • Connection: internal and external thread
  • Certification: EN ISO 16852, marking CE / ATEX 2014/34/EU

Connections and Dimensions

Available with threaded connections G ½" to G 2". Body height for G ½", G ¾", and G 1" is 69 mm; for G 1¼", G 1½", and G 2" it is 107 mm. Size selection should be based on flow rate, pressure drop, and gas density, not only nominal thread size.

Materials and Sealing

  • Body: stainless steel 1.4571
  • Gasket: PTFE
  • KITO® grid: stainless steel 1.4571
  • Intermediate layer: stainless steel 1.4571

No actuator or PT100 is specified for this model. For applications with risk of stabilized or endurance burning, select a type with certified thermal monitoring.

Application Selection

Compared to G 30 N and G 31 N, the G 32 N covers the stricter IIC group. Suitable for small instrument lines, burner lines, and low-pressure gas systems requiring bidirectional detonation protection in stainless steel/PTFE construction. Flow curves are based on air ρ = 1.29 kg/m³ at 273 K; correction for other gases is required based on density.

FAQ

Does it cover IIC?
Yes, for substances with MESG < 0.5 mm.

Is it a check valve?
No. It is a passive flame arrester, not a flow control device.

Is a PT100 version available?
Not specified for the G 32 N in this datasheet.
