All-rounder for standard applications in the field of building services to industrial applications.
AWS 930 – Spring-Loaded Wafer Check Valve
The AWS 930 is a wafer-type disc check valve designed for installation between flanges. The disc opens under differential pressure and closes via a spring mechanism when inlet pressure drops or reverse flow occurs. No actuator is used; closure is automatic by spring force.
Technical Data
- Sizes: DN15–DN100
- Connection: Between flanges PN6–PN40; selected sizes available for Class 150
- Max pressure: up to 40 bar (dependent on temperature)
- Face-to-face: DIN EN 558, Series 49
- Temperature range (metallic version): -20°C to +300°C
- Materials: Body 1.4408, Disc 1.4408, Spring/cross 1.4436
- Kv: 2 to 127 m³/h (depending on DN)
Seat and Leakage Classes
Available with metal seat or soft sealing (NBR, EPDM, FKM, PTFE). Soft seats achieve leakage rate A per EN 12266-1. Temperature limits: NBR up to +100°C, EPDM up to +150°C, FKM up to +200°C, PTFE up to +250°C. Metal seat allows higher temperatures but with a different leakage class.
Suitable Media
Applicable for water, air, gases, condensate, and compatible industrial fluids. Not suitable for media containing solid particles, as these may affect seat integrity and disc movement.
Installation
Flow direction must match the arrow on the body. Piping should be clean; gaskets must be properly centered. Manufacturer recommends a straight pipe section of 5×DN upstream and downstream of the valve. Avoid direct mounting to pump flanges.
Standards / Compliance
Conformity declaration includes PED 2014/68/EU, Module H, CE 0036, and standard DIN EN 16668.
FAQ
Can it be installed vertically? Yes, with spring, installation is possible in various positions. Without spring, only vertical lines with upward flow are permitted.
Is maintenance required? Classified as maintenance-free, but operational and leakage checks should be included in the facility’s inspection schedule.
