Gefran GFX-TERMO4 Controller
The Gefran GFX-TERMO4 is a modular 4-zone process controller designed for DIN rail or panel mounting. Each zone operates as an independent PID heat/cool loop with process input, CT input or auxiliary analog input, main control output, and cooling output. Suitable for distributed temperature control in industrial automation panels.
Process Inputs
Four main inputs support thermocouples J, K, R, S, T, Pt100, 0–60 mV, 0–1 V, and 0/4–20 mA. Main input accuracy is 0.2% f.s. ±1 digit at 25°C, with 120 ms sampling. Optional: four auxiliary analog inputs or four 50 mAac CT inputs for load monitoring. Input selection allows adaptation to various sensor types and process requirements.
Outputs and Control
OUT1–OUT4 are dedicated to heating. OUT5–OUT8 (depending on model) are configurable for cooling or auxiliary functions and can be relay 3 A, logic 24 Vdc, triac 230 Vac / 4 A, or analog 0/2–10 V and 0/4–20 mA. Two 5 A alarm relays are included. Output configuration supports integration with contactors, SSRs, or analog actuators.
Diagnostics Functions
Supports on/off, PWM, PID heat/cool, self-tuning, continuous and one-shot autotuning, soft-start, power limitation 0–100%, LBA and HB alarms. Load diagnostics detect open load or absence of voltage at SCR under control command. Diagnostic features assist in preventive maintenance and fault detection.
Communications
Standard RS485 Modbus RTU port. Optional second fieldbus port supports Modbus RTU, CANopen, DeviceNet, Profibus DP, Ethernet Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, and Profinet. Node address set via rotary switches. Enables integration with PLCs and SCADA systems for distributed control architectures.
Typical Applications
- Multi-zone temperature control in injection moulding
- Thermoforming and packaging machinery
- Thermal zones with SSR, triac, or contactor outputs
- Heating/cooling loops with resistance monitoring
- Decentralized I/O in PLC and fieldbus-based machines
