ARI STEVI Pro 422/462 – Control Valve for Large DN

The ARI STEVI Pro 422/462 is a straight-through control valve designed for analog regulation of flow, pressure, or temperature in DN200–DN250 lines. It features a threaded seat ring and a double-guided plug. Available in PN16 with EN-JL1040 or EN-JS1049 and in PN25/PN40 with 1.0619+N.

Versions 422 and 462

  • STEVI 422: Version with shaft packing. Standard PTFE packing option from -10°C to 250°C, optionally EPDM or graphite up to 450°C.
  • STEVI 462: Version with stainless steel bellows and secondary sealing. Chosen when external shaft leakage must be minimized or for operation at higher temperatures, up to 450°C with graphite.

Trim and Control Characteristics

The basic configuration includes a parabolic plug with a metal seat, equal percentage or linear characteristic, and a rangeability of 30:1. Optional PTFE soft seal available up to 200°C for leakage class VI, hardened seat edge, pressure-balanced plug, and perforated plug. The perforated trim is used in steam/gas for noise reduction or in critical liquid conditions with cavitation/flashing.

Connections, Standards, and Limits

Flanges comply with DIN EN 1092-1/-2 and face-to-face dimensions with DIN EN 558, series 1. Seat tightness is referenced according to DIN EN 60534-4 / IEC 60534-4. Material selection requires compatibility checks with media, temperature, pressure, and corrosion.

Actuators

Compatible with pneumatic ARI-DP 34/35, maximum air pressure 6 bar, or electric ARI-PREMIO / PREMIO-Plus 2G 5–25 kN and AUMA SAR 07.6–14.6. Handwheel, torque/travel switches, IP65/IP67, and ATEX versions available.

FAQ

When to choose the 462?
For steam, thermal fluids, or hazardous media where shaft leakage is unacceptable.

When is a pressure-balanced plug needed?
When the available actuator force is insufficient for the required Δp.

Key selection criteria: media, flow rate, P1/P2, temperature, Kvs, Δp, leakage class, fail-safe position, and actuator type.
