ADCA POPS-LC Condensate Pump

The ADCA POPS-LC is a mechanically operated low-capacity condensate pump, designed for pressure-driven operation. It is utilized for lifting or transferring hot steam condensate, oils, and non-hazardous liquids compatible with construction materials, when gravity or available differential pressure is insufficient.

Operation

Liquid enters by gravity through a check valve. The float activates a mechanism for motive medium intake and venting. Pressure within the body increases to overcome backpressure, displacing condensate to the outlet. No electric actuator or NPSH control is required as in centrifugal pumps.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizes: DN 25 x 25, DN 40 x 25, DN 40 x 40
  • Versions: POP-LCS carbon steel, POP-LCSS stainless steel
  • Connections: EN 1092-1 PN 16, ASME B16.5 Class 150, ISO 7 Rp
  • Motive Medium: saturated steam, compressed air, nitrogen, or other gases
  • Motive Pressure: 0.5 to 10 bar
  • Operating Temperature: up to 185°C
  • Displacement per Cycle: 11.2 L
  • Capacity: up to 2195 kg/h, with 300 mm filling head

Materials and Sealing

The body is available in carbon or stainless steel. The cover gasket is stainless/graphite. Seats, valves, and float are stainless steel, while springs are Inconel. Check valves are A351 CF8M / 1.4408.

Applications

  • Condensate return in open networks
  • Heat exchanger drainage with variable load
  • Operation with steam trap under stall conditions
  • Drainage of closed vessels under pressure or vacuum, under specific installation conditions

Selection

Sizing requires condensate flow, motive pressure, total backpressure, elevation head, piping losses, and available filling head. Correction factors apply for filling head different from 300 mm.

FAQ

When is the LC version selected?
For lower capacities, where limited filling head and compact arrangement are required.

Can it operate with air?
Yes, with flow correction for gas use instead of steam.
