ADCA ADCAMat POP Condensate Pump DN 25–80

The ADCA ADCAMat POP is a mechanical condensate pump operated via a float and an external motive medium. It is used for transferring steam condensate, oils, and non-hazardous Group 2 liquids to a higher level or return line with backpressure. It does not require electrical power.

Operation

The liquid enters by gravity through a check valve. As the float rises, the motive medium inlet valve opens and the vent closes. Pressure in the body increases until it exceeds the backpressure, displacing the condensate to the outlet. At low level, the supply closes and the vent opens for a new filling cycle.

Technical Specifications

  • Dimensions: DN 25 x 25, DN 40 x 40, DN 50 x 50, DN 80 x 50
  • Connections: EN 1092-1 PN 16, ASME B16.5 Class 150, ISO 7 Rp
  • Materials: POPS in carbon steel, POPSS in stainless steel
  • Motive medium: saturated steam, compressed air, nitrogen, or other gases
  • Max motive medium pressure: 10 bar
  • Operating temperature: up to 185°C
  • Capacity: up to 6080 kg/h, depending on DN, backpressure, and motive pressure
  • Displacement per cycle: 16 L, or 25 L for DN 80 x 50

Applications

Suitable for condensate return from heat exchangers, condensate manifolds, heating elements, pressure vessels, or installations where gravity is insufficient. In stall conditions, it is combined with a steam trap so that the trap operates when there is differential pressure, and the pump takes over when steam pressure falls below backpressure.

Selection and Installation

Sizing requires condensate load, motive medium pressure, total backpressure, elevation lift, piping losses, and available filling height. Installation is horizontal, with a strainer, isolation valves, check valves, and an unrestricted vent line, self-draining to the receiver.

FAQ

When is POP chosen over an electric pump?
When pumping hot condensate without NPSH issues, cavitation, or electrical supply is required.

Are there control options?
Level indication and cycle counter are available for operation monitoring and flow estimation.

Description

The ADCAMat POP pressure operated pump is recommended in the transfer of steam condensate, oils and other non-hazardous liquids compatible with the construction, to a higher elevation or pressure. Under certain conditions, it can drain a closed vessel under vacuum or pressure. The pump can be operated using steam, compressed air or other gases, and is manufactured in carbon steel or stainless steel.
