ADCA LIPO is installed in condensate lines where discharge from a steam trap must be elevated to a higher-level condensate header. Its use mitigates hydraulic shock and noise caused by rapid condensation of secondary steam in cooler condensate, improving process stability and protecting downstream equipment.
When lifting condensate to a higher line, secondary steam at the steam trap outlet may collapse violently into liquid phase. The LIPO maintains an air and flash steam pocket at the top, absorbing pressure pulses. The condensate at the bottom acts as a liquid seal, and line pressure drives flow to the elevated header. This design reduces water hammer and pressure surges in condensate return systems.
LIPOS version uses P235GH, P265GH, P250GH, and ASTM A105 for body, heads, pipes, and flanges. LIPOSS version features main parts in AISI 316 / 1.4401 stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance.
Install horizontally at the lowest point of the condensate line. Inlet must be horizontal; outlet must be vertical upwards. Drain connection is near the bottom and should be piped to drain or blanked with a suitable flange. Pipework must be independently supported to avoid thermal or mechanical loads on the vessel.
LIPO has no internal spare parts and does not require routine mechanical maintenance. Periodic operational checks, possible cleaning/flushing, and flange leak inspection are recommended, especially during initial commissioning and within the first 24 hours of operation.
