AWS 932-HD DN15–DN100 – High-Pressure Wafer Disc Check Valve

The AWS 932-HD is a wafer-type spring-loaded disc check valve designed for high-pressure pipelines. It is installed between flanges and operates automatically based on differential fluid pressure; no actuator is required. The 932-HD series covers DN15–DN100 and is rated for operating pressures up to 160 bar, depending on temperature and material selection.

Materials and Sealing

Standard configurations:

  • Design 1: Body, disc, and spring cross in 1.4404 / AISI 316L; spring in 1.4571 / AISI 316Ti
  • Design 6: Body, disc, and spring cross in 1.4410 Superduplex / A182 F51; spring in Hastelloy C4 / 2.4610

Seat options: metal, NBR, EPDM, FKM, PTFE. Metal seat leakage rate: G per EN 12266-1 (default). Soft seats achieve leakage rate A with minimum backpressure of 0.3 bar. For temperatures above 300°C, Hastelloy C4 spring is required.

Applications

Suitable for clean liquids and gases in high-pressure utilities, chemical plants, refinery piping, marine systems, industrial skids, and installations with limited face-to-face space. For seawater or brine, Superduplex version is recommended. Not suitable for media containing solids.

Installation

Flow direction must match the arrow on the body. Clean piping, proper centering between flanges, and straight pipe sections of 5×DN upstream and downstream are required. Do not install directly on pump discharge flanges.

FAQ

When is 932-HD selected over 932?
When Class 600/900 or operation up to 160 bar is required.

Can it operate without a spring?
Only in vertical lines with upward flow; in all other orientations, a spring is required.
