JC 915 Three-Way Ball Valve, Class 150, L-bore

The JC 915 is a flanged, three-way ball valve with floating ball and full bore, designed for flow diversion using an L-port configuration. It is applied where a common line must be alternately connected to two branches, without mixing function. Available sizes: 1”–8” / DN25–DN200, pressure class ASME Class 150.

Construction and Materials

  • Body: A216 Gr. WCB (carbon steel) or A351 Gr. CF8M (stainless steel).
  • Ball: A351 Gr. CF8M.
  • Stem: A479 Type 316.
  • Seats: PTFE.
  • Stem sealing: graphite packing, FKM O-rings.
  • Connection: ASME B16.5 Raised Face flanges.
  • Top mounting: ISO 5211 for actuation.

Operating Conditions

Selection is based on pressure, temperature, differential pressure, and PTFE/FKM compatibility with the process fluid. The Class 150/PTFE seat pressure-temperature chart indicates pressure derating at elevated temperatures, with a reference range of -29°C to 230°C.

Standards and Certifications

Design per EN 1983, body wall thickness per EN ISO 17292, pressure testing per API 598 / API 6D, castings per MSS SP 55. Complies with PED 2014/68/EU and ATEX 2014/34/EU. Wetted parts meet NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 and NACE MR0103 / ISO 17945.

Typical Applications

  • flow diversion in auxiliary circuits,
  • feed or return line switching,
  • water, glycol, thermal fluids, and chemical solutions,
  • oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power, marine, tank terminals, and wastewater processing.

Actuation

ISO 5211 mounting enables pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuators. Torque selection must consider maximum differential pressure and L-port geometry.

FAQ

Is it suitable for throttling?
Not as a primary function. Intended for isolation and flow diversion.

When is CF8M stainless steel specified?
For corrosive media or where enhanced wetted part compatibility is required.
