Y-Type Strainer NORIS Bauform 141

The NORIS Bauform 141 is a Y-pattern strainer with threaded pipe connections, designed for installation upstream of instrumentation, control valves, pumps, and equipment with restricted flow paths. It is used to retain solid particles in compatible industrial liquids or gases where flanged connections are not required. Suitable for process lines where BSP/G threaded connections are specified.

Construction Materials

Body and cover: stainless steel WN 1.4408. Strainer mesh: WN 1.4571. Cover gasket: PTFE. Optional double mesh (WN 1.4571) available for high solids loading or increased mechanical support.

Selection and Operation

Selection is based on thread size, flow rate, acceptable pressure drop, media viscosity, and cleaning interval. For pump suction lines, monitor differential pressure across the mesh, as partial blockage can reduce available NPSH.

Maintenance

Mesh is removed via the cover for cleaning. Isolate, depressurize, and drain the line before opening. After cleaning, inspect sealing surfaces, PTFE gasket, and ensure correct mesh reinstallation.

Actuator compatibility?
No. This is a passive in-line strainer without actuator provisions.

When to select over NORIS 140?
Use when BSP/G threaded installation is required and flanged (DIN/ANSI) connections are not needed.
