Blu Zac FYMA Machined Y-Type Strainers

Blu Zac FYMA are Y-type strainers machined from a single piece of material, designed for permanent installation in liquid or gas lines. The machined construction is specified for small diameter applications where a compact body, defined material grade, and connections per ASME piping specifications are required.

Connections and Standards

Available connections: BW per ANSI B16.25, flanged ANSI B16.5, SW per ANSI B16.11, and threaded NPT / BSP per ANSI B1.20.1 / BS21. Design in accordance with ASME VIII Div.1 and ASME B16.34.

Materials and Sealing

Body materials: ASTM A105, ASTM A350 LF2, ASTM A182 F304, ASTM A182 F316/316L. Screen: AISI 304 or AISI 316. Standard gasket: spiral wound graphite / W-316; for 2500 BC version: Ring Joint soft iron.

Drain and Maintenance

Standard drain: ¼″ NPT-F with plug for sizes below 1″, ½″ NPT-F with plug for 1¼″ and above. Maintenance: annual or when pressure drop exceeds expected value. Monthly inspection recommended: line isolation, cover removal, screen cleaning, deformation check, gasket replacement as needed.

When a machined body from a single block, special geometry, or non-standard material is required.

Actuator compatibility?
No. This is a passive in-line strainer.

Description

The Y filter is the most common and economical type of filter for permanent fluid or gas applications. Thanks to its compact construction, its light weight and its easy access for rapid cleaning, it is used for many generally standard system applications.

The full Y filter is a permanent filter type, inherently identical to the Y filter, but suitable for special applications. It is designed and machined from a single block of material, it is available in all standard materials (Carbon steel, Stainless Steel) and on specific request by the customer in non-standard materials (Duplex S31803, Super Duplex S32750, Inconel, Hastelloy, Cunifer, etc.), on the specific request of the customer.

Like all the other filters, the full Y filter can be depressurized with appropriate gas release or drainage devices, making it possible to remove the cap and extract the filter element.

The standard equipment includes a screen suitable for high pressures, which is easy to maintain and replace and capable of filtration of more than 200% of the inlet area.

OPEN AREA RATIO= 100 x Mesh Open Area x Screen Area / Inlet area (The calculations are based on the filtering percentage of the mesh’s surface area only).
