The NORIS 112-A is a straight-through dual-sided flow indicator with flanged connections according to ANSI 150 / 300 lbs. It is used for visual inspection of filling, flow presence, and fluid condition in process pipelines. In horizontal installations, the body geometry minimizes residual liquid retention within the indicator.
Operating Conditions
Connection: ANSI 150 lbs or ANSI 300 lbs flanges
Operating Pressure: 16 bar for 150 lbs, 40 bar for 300 lbs
Operating Temperature: 150 °C or 280 °C
Sizes: 1" to 16"
Installation: Optional orientation, with drainage assessment in specific line
Options: DIN flanges, steel body, extended length, lighting
Materials and Sealing
The body is made from WN 1.4571, with an option for 1.4404. Covers are stainless steel, bolts are A4-70, and sight glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available as required by fluid or temperature.
Typical Applications
Suitable for process water, chemical fluids compatible with stainless steel body and graphite gaskets, auxiliary circuits, gases, and lines where operators need to locally check flow, bubbles, color, or pipe filling. It is not a flow meter and does not provide an electrical control signal.
Difference from NORIS 112
Type 112-A is the ANSI version of the 112 series. It is selected when piping, flanges, and project specifications are based on ANSI 150 or 300 lbs, while Type 112 pertains to DIN PN16 flanges. Selection is based on connection standard, operating pressure, DN/NPS, and drainage requirement.
FAQ
Does it accept an actuator? No. It is a passive flow indicator. The available electrical option is for observation lighting.
What should be specified in the order? NPS, ANSI class, pressure, temperature, body material, glass type, gasket material, fluid, and potential requirement for extended length or lighting.
