NORIS Type 108 – Dual-Sided Flow Indicator PN16
The NORIS 108 is a straight dual-sided flow indicator with DIN PN16 flanges. It is used for visual inspection of flow presence, pipeline filling, and fluid condition in industrial networks, without electrical power or automation signals.
Technical Specifications
- Connection: DIN PN16 / DIN 2633 flanges
- Operating Pressure: 16 bar
- Operating Temperature: 150 °C or 280 °C, depending on execution
- Technical Sheet Sizes: DN25–DN80
- Installation: Horizontal or vertical, with flow direction control
- Options: Illuminated indicator, spinner, or flap for enhanced flow indication
Materials and Sealing
The body is made from WN 1.4404 or 1.4571. Flanges are WN 1.4571, covers are stainless steel, and bolts are A4. Observation glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available as required by the fluid.
Application Selection
Type 108 is selected when observation from two opposite sides of the pipeline is needed and stainless steel construction is necessary due to fluid, environment, or cleaning process. Suitable for process water, chemical fluids compatible with materials, auxiliary circuits, and gases, after pressure, temperature, and gasket checks.
Difference from Tubular Indicators
Compared to tubular types 020/025, the 108 has two flat observation glasses in a metal body. Unlike type 050, it does not rely on a low-flow ball unless a special spinner or flap indication is requested.
FAQ
Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator.
What should be specified in the order?
DN, PN16, body material, glass type, operating temperature, fluid, and potential need for lighting or internal spinner/flap indication.
