NORIS Type 108-B – Dual-Sided Flow Indicator with Loose Flanges
The NORIS 108-B is a straight-through dual-sided flow indicator designed for visual inspection of fluid filling and movement within pipelines. The "B" construction features loose connection flanges DIN 2642, PN10, distinguishing it from fixed-flange versions.
Technical Specifications

- Operating Pressure: 10 bar
- Operating Temperature: 150 °C or 280 °C, depending on execution
- Sizes: DN15–DN80
- Installation: Horizontal or vertical, maintaining flow direction
- Additional Options: Illuminated indicator, spinner or flap, full stainless steel construction
Construction Materials
The body is available in WN 1.4404 or 1.4571. Loose flanges are galvanized RSt 37-2, covers are galvanized RSt 37-2 / C22.8, and bolts are DIN 912 steel. Viewing glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available upon compatibility check.
Application Scope
Used in auxiliary networks, process water, chemical fluids compatible with stainless steel body and graphite gaskets, gases, and lines requiring local visual flow confirmation without electrical signal. For corrosive fluids or washdown environments, full stainless steel construction is considered.
Difference from Type 108
The 108-B features loose flanges PN10, whereas Type 108 refers to a flanged connection DIN PN16. Selection is based on line pressure class, flange standard, and alignment/assembly requirements in the piping.
