Adjustable Safety Shower Valve B-Safety BR 022 995 / V

Activation valve for wall-mounted emergency safety showers with exposed piping. The assembly consists of a stainless steel ball valve mounted on a wall flange, manually operated via a pull rod with ring handle. Installation is possible on either side of a door or access point, allowing flexible integration into process layouts.

Technical Data

  • Code: BR 022 995 / V
  • Inlet connection: Rp ¾” female
  • Operating pressure: 1–5 bar
  • Flow rate: ≥60 l/min at 1 bar flow pressure
  • Opening angle: 90°
  • Operation: non-self-closing
  • Pull rod: adjustable length 300–1660 mm
  • Dimensions: 300–1600 × 172 × 80 mm
  • Handle lower edge height: 0–1750 mm from floor

Construction Materials

The BR 022 995 / V variant is manufactured from polished stainless steel. Technical documentation specifies AISI 316 for the valve base at the flange, ball valve, lever, clevis, pull rod, and rod support. The “OPEN” sign is orange, photoluminescent plastic per DIN 67510.

Functional Application

This valve is used in fixed emergency showers for chemical plants, laboratories, chemical loading areas, processing units, and industrial environments requiring immediate body wash capability. Suitable medium is potable water from the facility network for personnel safety installations.

Standards and Installation

Complies with DIN EN 15154-1:2006, DIN EN 15154-5:2019, ANSI Z358.1-2014, DIN 1988, DIN EN 1717, DIN-DVGW test/certification, and GOST-R. For DIN EN 15154-1 installations, the section between valve and shower head must be self-draining.

Variant Comparison

The /V version is selected when handle height must be adapted to project requirements. The adjustable pull rod (300–1660 mm) allows handle position adjustment without changing the base valve.

Sealing and Maintenance

Seat and internal seal materials for the ball valve are not specified in the technical sheet. For projects with treated or chlorinated water, or special material requirements, compatibility must be confirmed prior to procurement. Periodic testing should verify full 90° opening, flow rate, free rod movement, and absence of leakage at the valve.

Product description

The variable rod operated safety shower valve consists of a robust ball valve with drinking water approval, which can be mounted either to the right or left of the door. The volume flow is at least 60 liters / minute at 1 bar flow pressure. An additional holder ensures positioning of the pull rod. The length of the pull rod can be ordered from 300 to 1660 mm according to the conditions on site.

Mounting-Instructions:

For an installation in accordance with EN 15154-1:2006 it must be ensured, that the safety shower installation is self-draining between valve and shower head.
