Operation

The 100PM-4B is a globe pattern, diaphragm-actuated, hydraulically operated remote control valve. It remains normally closed by spring force and internal hydraulic assistance. When a pressure signal is applied from the fire main to the control port, the valve opens to allow firewater flow to the protected space.

System Testing

The 100PM-4B includes a lower port, typically plugged, for connection of a test fitting to a fire hose. This arrangement enables flow testing to drain while maintaining the dry pipe to the magazine, without actuating the valve during testing.
