Hafner 5/2 Lever-Operated Air Valves
The Hafner HV / HVR 5/2 series are manually actuated pneumatic valves designed for the control of double-acting cylinders. The 5-port, 2-position configuration alternates supply and exhaust to each cylinder side via lever operation, without electrical or pilot actuation.
Operating Variants
- HV 511: Monostable 5/2 with mechanical spring return. The valve returns to its rest position upon lever release.
- HVR 520: Bistable 5/2 with two mechanically latched positions. The selected position is maintained until manually switched.
Technical Specifications
Available port sizes: G 1/8” to G 3/4”. Flow rates range from 650 l/min (G 1/8”) to 6000 l/min (G 3/4”). Operating pressure: 1–10 bar. Required actuation force: 20–40 N, depending on valve size. Suitable for filtered, lubricated or non-lubricated compressed air. Temperature range and sealing materials available on request.
Selection Criteria: HV vs HVR
HV 511 is selected where a defined rest position is required after lever release, e.g., for manual jog, cylinder testing, or temporary maintenance commands.
HVR 520 is used where the position must remain mechanically selected, such as for local motion selection, manual bypass, or operator stations.
Industrial Applications
- Manual control of double-acting pneumatic cylinders
- Pneumatic panels in machinery
- Service and commissioning stations
- Auxiliary movements in packaging lines
- Local actuation for grippers, pushers, or clamping mechanisms
Maintenance Considerations
Inspect for leakage at exhaust ports, air cleanliness, lever mechanism wear, full spring return (HV), and secure mechanical latching (HVR). Regular checks are recommended for reliable operation in industrial environments.
