Hafner 3/2 Lever-Operated Air Valves

Hafner HV / HVR 3/2 valves are manually actuated pneumatic valves designed for direct air line supply and exhaust via lever operation. These valves are implemented in control circuits where manual pneumatic actuation is required, without solenoid or pilot signal.

Operating Versions

  • HV 311: Monostable 3/2 with spring return, universal porting NC/NO. The valve returns to its rest position when the lever is released.
  • HVR 320: Bistable 3/2 with two stable positions. The valve remains in the selected position until the lever is actuated again.

Technical Specifications

Available port sizes: G 1/8” to G 3/4”. Flow rates range from 650 l/min (G 1/8”) up to 6000 l/min (G 3/4”). Operating pressure: 1…10 bar. Required actuation force: 20 N to 40 N, depending on valve size. Suitable for filtered, lubricated or non-lubricated compressed air. Temperature range and sealing materials available on request.

Monostable vs. Bistable Selection

HV 311 is selected where automatic return to a safe position is required after lever release. Typical for temporary commands, reset, test, or manual venting.

HVR 320 is used where the command must remain active without continuous operator intervention, such as manual mode selection or permanent auxiliary circuit supply.

Typical Applications

  • Manual control of single-acting cylinders
  • Pneumatic control panels on machinery
  • Service, reset, and bypass lines
  • Actuator testing during maintenance
  • Local venting or supply of pneumatic signals

Selection and Maintenance Considerations

Selection is based on flow rate, thread size, NC/NO function, required rest position, and actuation force. Maintenance includes checking for exhaust leakage, air cleanliness, lever mechanism wear, position stability (HVR), and full spring return (HV). Conforms to relevant ISO standards for pneumatic valves.
