High Pressure
High-pressure safety relief valves are used to protect equipment and piping against overpressure in hydraulic, pneumatic, gas, and specialized process systems where the required set pressure exceeds the normal operating range of standard safety valves. The range includes Nuova E5/LS, E5/LS600, E8/LS, E8/LS300, E10, E10/L, E10/L150, E14, E14/L150, and E14/L series, with different effective discharge areas, pressure classes, and set pressure ranges depending on model configuration.
Valve selection should be based on set pressure, required relieving capacity, reduced flow coefficient, nozzle area, service fluid, operating temperature, seat material compatibility, and required certification. In high-pressure duty, the evaluation should also include media cleanliness, inlet pressure loss, safe outlet discharge, pipe-induced mechanical loads, and seat tightness after repeated lift cycles. For gas service or cryogenic and thermally demanding conditions, seat material options such as PEEK, VESPEL, PTFE, KALREZ, or metal seat construction should be matched to temperature limits and chemical compatibility.
DIN versions are available with pressure ratings up to PN700 and set pressure ranges which, depending on valve type and approval scope, extend from 0.3 bar to 600 bar. End connections include ISO 228-1, BSP, NPT, and EN 10226 in selected configurations. Body materials include DZR brass, stainless steel, and mixed brass-stainless steel construction. Available approvals include CE/UKCA, EAC, ATEX/UKEX, ASME XIII-CRN, and SELO-TSG, with optional witnessing or testing by INAIL, TUV, RINA, Bureau Veritas, ABS, and Lloyd's Register where required by project specification or regulatory framework.
