AKO Series Heating Cables with Silicone Insulation

AKO series heating cables are specified for frost protection and temperature maintenance in refrigeration and industrial process installations. Typical applications include evaporator drain lines, cold storage machinery, and locations where condensation or ice formation may obstruct drainage or impact equipment operation. The cables are suitable for use in environments with potential exposure to low temperatures and require compatibility with process fluids and installation substrates.

Selection and Installation Guidelines

Selection criteria:

• Ambient conditions and chemical compatibility with insulation

Cables must not be cut, crossed, or allowed to contact themselves. Avoid sharp edges, crushing, twisting, and mechanical stress. Grounding is required for metallic pipe installations.

Electrical Protection and Maintenance

Each heating circuit must be supplied via a dedicated line with appropriate protection and a 30 mA RCD. Operation should be interlocked with the defrost cycle; maximum energization time is 30 minutes. Damaged cables must be replaced, not repaired.
