Globe Forged Steel Large Size Neway Valve

Forged globe valve for diameters NPS 2"–24" / DN50–DN600 and pressure ratings ASME Class 900–2500 / PN150–PN420. Designed for high-pressure lines requiring forged bodies instead of cast, typically used in steam, feedwater, condensates, hydrocarbons, and auxiliary process circuits.

Construction and Connections

  • Body: forged valve construction
  • Body materials: carbon steel or alloy steel
  • Connections: RF, RTJ, BW
  • Operation: manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic
  • Typical globe arrangement: OS&Y, rising stem, guided disc
  • Bonnet: bolted, welded, or pressure seal, depending on pressure class and project requirements

Sealing and Trim

The Neway forged globe series uses positive backseat, graphite packing, and an improved stuffing box for shaft leakage control. The solid guided disc maintains disc-seat alignment and limits uneven wear on sealing surfaces. Standard is plug style disc, with other configurations available upon request.

Design Standards

For forged globe versions, API 602 is referenced, and for Class 2500, ASME B16.34. Flanged versions follow face-to-face dimensions per ASME B16.10 and flanges per ASME B16.5.

Selection Criteria

Selection should consider:

  • pressure class and design temperature
  • forged body material in relation to creep, corrosion, and thermal cycling
  • RF/RTJ for detachable connection or BW for permanent welding
  • requirement for on/off or limited throttling
  • available operating torque and actuator need
  • leakage requirement in seat and packing

FAQ

When is forged large size preferred over cast globe?

When the application involves high pressure, high temperature, or requires specific metallurgical behavior of the forged body.

Is it a control valve?

The primary use is isolation. For throttling, control of Δp, flow velocity, and seat/disc wear is required.
