Metal Seat Gate Valve DIN F4 NRS
DIN F4 NRS Gate Valve with Metal Seat
Short pattern gate valve, type DIN F4, with non-rising stem (NRS), open/closed position indicator, and bolted bonnet. Body is cast iron, trim Rg5, raised face flanges, designed per DIN EN 1171 / DIN 3352 T2.
Technical Use
NRS configuration is selected where installation height is limited, as the stem does not extend during operation. Position indicator is important for visual status verification in pump rooms, manifolds, and lines requiring clear valve status.
Suitable Media
- cold and hot water
- fresh water
- seawater
- lubricating oil
- liquid isolation networks with low pressure drop requirements at full open
Applications
Valve is used for start/stop flow only, not for throttling. Typical applications: shipboard water systems, seawater lines, oil circuits, auxiliary engine room systems, and pump manifolds.
Metal Seat & Maintenance
Metal seat is suitable where resistance to mechanical wear is prioritized over elastomeric sealing. Tightness depends on seat condition, media cleanliness, and correct flange alignment. Maintenance checks include:
- metal seat wear
- position indicator function
- bonnet sealing
- stem packing
- body and flange corrosion
Available Variants
Variants include drain plug and trim in AISI 304 for enhanced corrosion resistance or media compatibility.
FAQ
Is it suitable for flow regulation?
No. This is an isolation valve.
When is NRS selected?
When installation height above the valve is restricted.
What does DIN F4 mean?
Refers to short face-to-face dimension for flanged gate valves per DIN.
