ARI STEVI H 485/488 – HVAC Control Valve
The ARI STEVI H 485/488 is a control valve designed for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning circuits, applicable in regulating heating or cooling water flow. The H series includes three-way and two-way configurations, equipped with electric actuators for analog or three-point control.
Type Differences
- Fig. 485: Three-way mixing valve with flanges, PN6 or PN16, body EN-JL1040, DN15–DN150.
- Fig. 488: Two-way straight-through valve with threaded connections, PN16, body CC499K, DN15–DN50.
- The 486 is the corresponding flanged two-way version, while the 487 is the three-way threaded version. Conversion from three-way to two-way is achieved with a blind flange or blind plate on path B.
Materials and Operating Limits
The flanged 485 uses body EN-JL1040, seat 1.4021+QT, plug CW614N, and stem 1.4571. Temperature range is 0°C to +130°C, with stem heating capability down to -10°C. Flanges comply with DIN EN 1092-2 and length according to DIN EN 558, series 1.
Trim and Sealing
Available with parabolic plug or V-port. For DN15–100, the plug features an EPDM O-ring, with sealing according to DIN EN 12266-1 leakage rate A. For DN125–150, the seat is metal/metal, with leakage at 0.05% of Kvs. Rangeability is 30:1.
Actuators
DN15–DN100 are paired with ARI-PACO 0.85 kN or PACO 2G 1.6 kN. For DN125–DN150, ARI-PREMIO / PREMIO-Plus 2G 2.2–15 kN, IP65, with options for 3-point, 0–10 V, or 4–20 mA.
Selection Criteria
Proper sizing requires Kvs, flow rate, Δp, temperature, connection type, mixing or straight-through function, and control signal. Before commissioning, verify material, pressure, temperature, and flow direction; foreign bodies in the pipeline can cause seat leakage.
