TTV COLOSSUS Butterfly Valve PTFE / R-PTFE / Metal

The TTV COLOSSUS is a high-performance double eccentric butterfly valve designed for industrial pipelines requiring low disk-seat friction, reduced operating torque, and the option of PTFE/R-PTFE or metal seats. Available in DN32–DN600, with body options of ASTM A216 WCB or ASTM A351 CF8M and a stainless steel CF8M disk.

Connections and Standards

  • Versions: wafer, lug, flanged S20, double flanged S13
  • Flanges: PN10/16/25/40, ANSI 150/300 lbs
  • Face-to-face: EN 558 Series 20 / Series 13, ISO 5752, API 609, EN 593, BS 5155, MSS-SP-68
  • Top flange: ISO 5211
  • Testing: API 598, ISO 5208, ANSI/ASME B16.34, EN 593
  • Operating pressure: up to 25 bar for DN32–DN600

Seats and Temperature

  • PTFE / R-PTFE 25% glass filled: -50 to +220 °C, Class VI, leakage “0”, PN10/16/25.
  • Metal seat / Inconel: -50 to +360 °C, Class V, PN10/16/25.
  • Fire-safe R-PTFE + AISI 316: -50 to +220 °C, designed per API 607.

R-PTFE seats are suitable for chemical lines and vacuum service, except for alkaline metals, chlorine trifluoride, fluorine at high temperature/pressure, and strong concentrated nitric or sulfuric acids.

Applications

Applicable in chemicals, petroleum, ethylene, LPG/LNG, steam, air, seawater, saturated water/steam, thermal oil, bitumen/asphalt, corrosive liquids, cogeneration, fire protection, sludges, and abrasive services. Final selection based on seat, ΔP, temperature, and leakage requirements.

FAQ

When to choose a metal seat?
When PTFE/R-PTFE is insufficient due to temperature or chemical incompatibility.

Is it suitable for throttling?
Only after evaluating Cv/Kv, cavitation, opening angle, noise, and actuator torque.
