The ADCA BV is designed for boiler house applications, specifically for cooling boiler blowdown water and hot effluents prior to discharge into drainage systems. The vessel acts as a flash expansion chamber: a portion of the incoming hot water is converted to flash steam, while the remainder is collected as hot condensate or waste.
The vessel includes blowdown inlets, blowdown outlet, vent outlet, cooling water inlet, thermostat connection, pressure gauge port, drain, and inspection opening. Connection sizes and locations are finalized per supply drawing, based on model and blowdown flow rate.
Installation must ensure correct inlet/outlet orientation, adequate pipe support, avoidance of mechanical stress from thermal expansion, and provision for drainage. The vessel inlet is positioned above the blowdown valves; the connecting line should include a low-point drain for boiler emptying.
After commissioning, flange joints should be checked for leakage within 24 hours and retightened as necessary. Routine maintenance includes inspection of gaskets, drainage, coating condition, corrosion, and wall thickness. ADCA guidelines recommend wall thickness checks after approximately 5 years, or sooner in corrosive service or poor water quality.
